The Role
As the Compliance & Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing the organisation’s Compliance Monitoring and Safety Management System. Reporting directly to the Accountable Manager, you will ensure adherence to UK CAA, EASA, and other national aviation authority requirements. Additionally, you will foster a strong safety culture and ensure that all technical training and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage a compliance monitoring programme to oversee maintenance procedures.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with UK CAA Part 145 and other NAA approvals.
- Provide regular reports to the Accountable Manager on safety and compliance standards.
- Assess and manage sub-contractors, suppliers, and vendors in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead a team of Compliance and Safety Engineers, ensuring competence in aviation legislation (UK CAA, EASA, FAA).
- Oversee training and authorisation of certifying and support staff.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the UK CAA and other regulatory bodies.
- Facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis, and safety investigations.
- Oversee and attend safety review board meetings, driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
- CAA/EASA-approved Nominated Person for compliance and safety.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation legislation and compliance requirements.
- Aircraft maintenance licence or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and manage teams.
- Strong understanding of base, line, and component maintenance operations.
- Excellent communication, IT literacy, and organisational skills.
- Experience in incident investigation, auditing, and risk management.
- Ability to align company approval strategies with business goals.
- Previous experience delivering training and compliance oversight.
