We are searching for an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of our client based in Ireland.

The Operations Manager of the Cork Terminal Business Unit (CTBU) will oversee the delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-effective Air Traffic Management/Air Navigation Service (ATM/ANS) operations.

This role includes supporting the formulation and implementation of strategic developments within air navigation services.
The Operations Manager will report to the General Manager of Terminal Services and act as the designated person responsible for their operational area, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver ATM/ANS services safely and efficiently in compliance with international and national standards.
  • Foster a culture of safety, security, and operational focus.
  • Oversee operational and safety strategies, ensuring resources align with traffic demands and future forecasts.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to maintain ATM capacity and efficiency.
  • Identify needs for trials, studies, and simulations to optimise airspace and sectorisation.
  • Manage staffing levels, ensuring necessary skills are maintained for current and future demand.
  • Inform the General Manager of activities and developments, highlighting their impact on operations.
  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and the annual Work Programme.
  • Lead, guide, and motivate staff, overseeing performance management and employee development.
  • Ensure adherence to personnel policies, health and safety protocols, and absence management procedures.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including adjacent service providers, general aviation, airline operators, and airport authorities, to maintain airspace capacity.
  • Represent the organization at national and international forums as needed.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and SkillsEssential
  • A relevant third-level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive management experience in aviation (preferably Air Traffic Management) or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of EU and national safety regulations, as well as ATM/ANS operations requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in aviation safety standards and practices.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate teams.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent business acumen and a focus on customer service.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of resource planning activities.
  • Familiarity with airspace design and classification.
