We had the pleasure of attending the Malta Aviation Conference and Expo (MACE) at the Hilton Hotel Malta on the 2nd and 3rd of October. In attendance were Martin Bennell, Group Chief Operating Officer and Samantha Wilson, Associate Director of Executive Search and Aviation Recruitment at GOOSE Recruitment.

The event brought together professionals from the aviation industry to debate, discuss, and network and has become a staple event in the aviation industry’s calendar.

Resourcing the Industry: The Human Capital Element Panel Discussion

Samantha Wilson joined the panel discussion “Resourcing the Industry: The Human Capital Element” with Joshua Zammit, Carlo Girasoli, Marlene Mellema, and Hinrik Hinriksson Hansen. The panel tackled one of aviation's biggest challenges—resourcing talent. From recruitment to retention, this panel explored the strategies needed to build and sustain a strong workforce in today's aviation industry.

“Retention is about four main pillars: Reward, Recognition, Relationships and Progression. We must remember that finding top talent is tough, but keeping them is tougher. If we can make small progressive steps in improving the four pillars I think we will see big gains,” shared Wilson.

Networking

It was fantastic to connect with so many aviation professionals at the MACE event. The energy and passion for the industry were truly inspiring, and it was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, share insights, and learn from such a diverse group of experts. Building relationships with fellow professionals is always a highlight, and we're excited to continue these conversations and explore potential collaborations.
