As the Security Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, managing, and overseeing security risks within the organisation. You will ensure the effectiveness of security measures up to the Board level and act as the Cyber Security Responsible Manager (UK CAA CAP1753). This key role will ensure compliance with aviation security regulations, implement best practices, and maintain a robust security management system to protect the company’s operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, maintain, and improve the organisation’s security management system.
- Ensure compliance with the National Aviation Security Programme (NASP), including cyber security requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving cyber security trends and apply best practices within the company.
- Conduct risk analysis, threat assessments, and implement appropriate security measures.
- Develop, formulate, and implement security policies for approval by the Accountable Manager.
- Manage security relationships with airport authorities, law enforcement, and government bodies.
- Ensure compliance with UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Department for Transport (DfT) regulations.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the company’s security programs, including conducting audits and quality control assessments.
- Provide support and advice during internal and external security inspections and audits.
- Develop and oversee security training programs for crew and staff.
- Supervise physical security measures at company bases and offices.
- Manage security personnel and ensure adherence to internal protocols and procedures.
- Assess future security risks in line with operational growth and implement mitigation strategies.
- At least 5 years of experience in aviation, covering cabin, ground, flight, or airworthiness roles.
- Minimum of 2 years in a security management or similar position.
- At least 3 years of residence in the UK.
- Strong knowledge of the Aviation Security Manager syllabus as per UK SCD (Aviation).
- ICAO ASTP/Basic/Management certification is desirable.
- Experience in security auditing and quality control processes.
- Familiarity with Security Management Systems (SeMS).
- Strong understanding of cyber security principles and practices.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree from a recognised university.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Critical thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to assess non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate effectively across teams.

- Willingness to travel as required.
